"Well let me tell you what I know", O'Kelly said with a twinkle in his eye, "The GRRRs been signed to pull boxcars for that famous magician Rhadini. You know that fellow that pulls rabbits from his hat and makes all sorts 'o stuff disappear?" O'Kelly said with a smile. "He's got his entire show packed in these boxcars in the yard, and I've been hearing all sorts of hocus pocus coming from them at all hours of the day and night."
The Great Rhadini could not be reached for comment.

Gold Rush Gulch, Aug. 2 --- It's been a long time since this reporter has sat around a campfire under a blanket of stars listening to tales of haunted houses and phantom ships. Heck, even my grandfather used to tell me how he'd still hear the whistle of the ol' Gold Rush Limited in the middle of the night 50 years after it plunged into a chasm near Dead Man's Curve.
But more recently, with the activity surrounding the sale and demolition of the Simmons Mansion, Gold Rush Gulch's very own "haunted house", rumors have started circulating about the boxcars that will carry away the remains of that infamous house.
WHO YOU GUNNA CALL?
We recently visited the GRRR to find out more about the rumors and the story behind them.
"Sure, we been hired to pull boxcars of all them things from that Simmons place", Kasey O'Kelly confirmed. "But let me tell ya", he continued, "I've been living here only 'bout two years now, but I've heard everything I want to hear 'bout that there murder house."
Many will recall the gruesome story of how old man Simmons jumped to his death one stormy night from the organ loft of the Victorian-style mansion 20 years ago this week. It was said he killed his wife just before midnight and then
made his way to the organ loft. After playing maniacally while a storm raged on, he finally flung himself out the window to his death below. Folks around these parts say that on stormy nights when the wind is just right, they can still here the distant sound of the Simmons organ being played.
In the last few months, Nicholas Simmons, nephew of the original owner, purchased the estate and has been overseeing the demolition process while carefully preserving the valuables that lie within.
When asked about the rumors surrounding the boxcars, Kelly said, "I've heard them rumors too, 'bout how the ghosts of old man
Simmons and his wife will haunt the boxcars taking away their belongings. What I can tell you is this", Kelly said with a bit of apprehension, "I've heard a lot of spooky sounds coming from those cars, particularly on rainy nights, and I wouldn't want to be the one who has to climb down into one of them to see what's been making all that racket".

The Gazette reached out to GRRR Conductor Kasey O' Kelly for comment.
GRRR WARNS OF KILLER WASP

"Well", Kasey said as he took out his kerchief and wiped his sunburned brow, "The best way to avoid them critters is to run or jump over'em when they come a'diving at you."
