Gold Rush Gulch, Mar. 13.---

The Gold Rush Railroad welcomed a new Conductor this week, Kasey O’Kelly.  Kasey comes to the GRRR from back East where he worked alongside his cousin Keystone Kelly at the Southwicks Department Store Company.  Keystone as you recall gained national notoriety for his daring and sometimes comical kapers involving the capture of the notorious burglar, Harry Hooligan.

When asked about moving West to join the GRRR, O’Kelly said, “I was never one for crime fighting like me cousin.  At Southwicks I was the one that had to clean up all the balls, radios and toy airplanes every time that scoundrel Hooligan ran though the store.”  O’Kelly added, “That’s when the notion hit me to pack up me bags and move West.”

When asked if he has any concerns about the rumors that the GRRR will be  transporting Gold Bars, Kasey said "Naw.  I learned me a thing or two from me cousin Keystone about chasing hooligans.  There won't be none of those shenanigans when I'm Conductor."

NEW ROLLING STOCK

FOR THE GRRR

Gold Rush Gulch, Mar. 20. --- Come this summer residents of Gold Rush Gulch will be seeing some new and exciting things rolling by... courtesy of the Gold Rush Railroad. Conductor O'Kelly tells folks to "keep 'yer weather 'ey out" when locomotive 0514 comes steaming down the tracks.

When asked about the new rolling stock, O'Kelly said, "To tell ya the truth, I'm most excited about my new littl' red caboose.  This is where I'll be livin' during the long trips across the desert.  It's just like being back home in me own cottage back in County Clare in the 'ol Country.  It has all the conveniences of modern livin' including a new fancy potbelly stove.  Sometimes it gets so hot the lid jumps clear off!  Oh don't ya know."

According to Conductor Kasey O'Kelly, there's been a series of strange events in the middle of the night at the GRRR rail yard.

"It all started when The Great Rhadini's boxcars rolled into the yard.", O'Kelly said.  "Ever since then, I started hearing

strange thumping sounds coming from inside 'em almost every night."  O'Kelly added, "I've even seen Rhadini himself go into one of those boxcars and I swear, I seen him jump out of another one clear across the yard!  Glory be I must be seeing things."

The Gold Rush Railroad has expanded their service to include an array of new modern amenities.  Starting this summer all passenger coaches will be outfitted with overhead storage shelves allowing for many more packages and luggage on those long trips abroad.

      We asked GRRR's new

Conductor O'Kelly what he thought about the newest upgrades to the Coach Cars.

O'Kelly responded, "Well I'll tell you.  I'm not so fond of having so much luggage and things above me head all the time."  He continued, "I'll probably have to jump over fallen suitcases and the like, making sure that I'm not hit in me head by carpetbags and hatboxes!"  With that O'Kelly winked and added, "Who Knows, it might be a lot of fun!"

The GRRR would like to thank Southwicks Department Store for it's generous donation of bouncing balls and flying airplanes.
